Don can't remember life without a horse. When most kids were riding their bicycles Don would be driving his pony and cart. At an early age he gained the reputation as having an almost uncanny ability to handle horses and solve their problems. In his teens he began to work with combined driving ponies for Marion Smith and David Schwartz, soon he was not only driving singles but pairs. In his early 20's he started breeding, training and showing mini's and shetlands, at this time he earned well-deserved recognition in the show ring for his talent. In his late 30's Don took a hiatus from the horse world and devoted his time to showing dogs. After a few year break his love for horses and the requests from clients brought him back into the driving arena. Don believes that a properly trained horse and an educated driver can enjoy safe driving both for pleasure and show . " When my student has bonded with thier horse and feels comfortable while driving in different environments I have done my work well"
